September 1 saw 700,000 students embrace the new semester at primary and secondary schools (including secondary vocational schools and kindergartens) in Jingzhou. During interviews in downtown Jingzhou, the reporter learned that all schools were strictly implementing the requirements of epidemic prevention to keep students safe and going all out for a good start in the new semester.

Hongyuan Primary School is within an originally enclosed control area in Shashi District. At the opening ceremony themed "Saluting Heroes, Contributing to Great Power Building", the school presented students' parents with sachets made during the summer vacation, to extend thanks and respects to them who were involved in community epidemic prevention and control. At Nanhu Road Middle School in Shashi District, following a brief opening ceremony, teachers showed low-stage students around canteens and toilets, middle-stage students took classes bringing their mind back and high-stage students got down to study in groups.

To further intensify infectious disease prevention and control, all new students of senior secondary schools and boarding junior high schools, college entrants and new recruits in Jingzhou should receive tuberculosis screening this summer. All compulsory schools in Jingzhou should provide after-school services to all students under the principle of "one school, one plan". After-school training agencies should continue to suspend offline training, with resumption time subject to determination by local epidemic prevention and control headquarters.
